From the 31th of May until 16th of June 2021 Ruurd and Gert visited Makeni and Yele to review the current projects and talk with the stakeholders about new future projects. The trip was together with Piet en Lydia Houtenbos from the Foundation a Helping Hand. The team stayed in the apartments at the top of the City Garden Clinic hospital in Makeni and traveled from there out to several projects in Yele, Porto Loko and Yonibana. In Yele we visited all the primary schools where we evaluated the Teacher-the-Teacher project and discussed with Parents, Principals and Teachers what we will do in the coming years. In the topic “Update on our new projects” In Makeni we discussed with Dr. ABD and his staff the plans for the future and how we can support the hospital in improving and growing the coming 5 years. In a next newsletter we will provide an update. In Porto Loko we had the chance to meet the EducAid team and we reviewed the previous projects and talked about the future. Together with the Foundation a Helping Hand we visited a secondary school in Yonibana and Yele and decided on cooperation between our 2 foundation especially in Yele to improve digital education in Yele for the whole community. It was a great trip with a lot of new project ideas for future.
